Fun! Fun! Fun!

So we had a really great weekend! On Thursday night we met up with one of Josh's old mission buddies and his wife and daughter (Boyd, Carrie, and Ratie Jensen)! We ate at Maddox and talked and tried our best to keep our kids under control! We really enjoyed ourselves and had a fun time! We hope to be able to do this again sometime!

Friday we stayed home with our kids and played games! I outlawed the Wii (does anyone else get sick of this??) so we played Candy Land, Jenga, Trouble and a match game. It was so fun to spend time together! Then we ate left-overs from the week. not a single one of us ate the same thing, and the best part is I didn't have to be a short order cook to do it! We finished up the night by laying a bunch of blankets and pillows on the floor and and watching Speed Racer and shoving popcorn in our mouths!!!! I thought the movie was weird, but I loved every minute of being with my family!!

Saturday we went to Brenton's basket ball game! His team did really well and Brenton scored 2 points!! Go Brenton!!! We Love watching him in whatever sport he is doing! Soccer, base ball, wresteling or basket ball!
That night we dropped our kids off at Mark and Julies house and Josh and I went to our stake's Under the Stars dinner and dance! We ate dinner at a table with 3 couples in our ward and then went and got our picture taken! I will have to post it when we get it! We learned how to waltz and shook our booties all over the dance floor! Ha ha! We had so much fun dancing and watching all the other people dance too!! We left about nine and went to Brigham to get the kids. We stopped at Sonic and got a hamburger, tator-tots, and an orange cream slush to share mmmm!! A fter all we just burned off a whole bunch of calories so we had to make up for it! I think we should do date night every week! I Love You Honey!!!
I know that I am so blessed to have so much an have such a wonderful, fun family!!

So it's the beginning of another week and Josh is back on swing shift for 2 weeks. I hate rotton swing shift!!!! I always feel like a single parent when he is working afternoons and into the night. Sometimes I feel like I am going to pull my hair out when all the kids are running around screaming right before bed and daddy is not here to give them the smack-down! You know.... the smack-down just isn't as motivating when it comes from mom. it's something about telling your kids that you are going to get their Father that scares the begeebers out of them!! I really struggle when he is on swing shift so I, like my sister, am going to list 10 things that I am grateful for so that I can make it through these next 2 weeks!

1- I Love that when I wake up in the morning that my husband is still in bed beside me!
2- I am glad that I don't have to take Cael to get his shots by myself tomorrow!
3- Draycin actually wants to spend time with me at night because daddy is not here!
4- We have lots of chocolate laying around our house from Valentines that I can eat!
5- We always seem to get piano and homework done quicker when I am in charge!
6- I can go to bed at 8 or 9 when the kids do and not be called an old grandma!
7- It is so nice to have josh around in the mornings! He helps so much!
8- I can sit at the computer and write this post, and not be wasting anyone elses time!
9- I am grateful that my husband has always made it home safely! knock on wood!
10- I am thankful for my home where I am safe and warm!

It all started with this naughty little face! Surely I am not alone in what my husband calles "weird nicknames".
You see we all love our children, and sometimes we experience this love so strongly that it comes oozing out of our bodies in "weird" ways. For me, it is a slightly strange, but very affectionate nick name for my children.
Here to the left is Bushes. Pronounced BOOOSHIS. Truly he came up with that one on his own, and it has become his " Love name" from me despite my husband pleading with me to just call him Draycin.

Here to the right is Cael A.K.A. Goobu. pronounced phonetically as it is spelled. it first started out as Booboo and has transformed, over the past seven months, into Goobu or Goob for short. This is very hard for my husband to accept as he has a stong sense of calling your child what you name them.

Here We have this Beautiful, talented and sweet girl! I tried everything you can imagine with her "Love name" from girlfriend to sista. When you are as beautiful, sweet and talented as Allie you musn't be embarrassed by your step-mom calling you weird names in front of your friends though. Finally... she became Sissy! a name she proudly accepts. after all when you have 3 little brothers that all adore you, You must have a nick name, and everyone want's their sissy!

Here is my tough guy (just look at this picture): This is Brenton or Bwenton as I enjoy calling him. Since Brenton was 2 he has always called me Shawee. I Love this and write my name that way on things. Thus, this little boy gave me a "Love name" and by doing so inherited his own!

Last but not least is my husband Josh who will curl up and die after I post this. As you can see in the picture, we are with Jim Brickman. Or Jimmie as we affectionately call him...Ha ha ha!

Josh proposed to me at one of his concerts! on stage in front of everyone! he is so irrisistably sweet and thoughtful that he became "My Sexy Man" a name that I have to refrain myself from using around the children. no explination needed.... I know he secretly loves that I call him that, but couldn't admit to it because then he would have to rest his case about the other "weird" names I have given our family.

So this is my family!!! I love every single one of them, and I hope you will enjoy coming along for our Never Ending Story!!!

The Beginning!!!

Well this isn't actually the beginning... but I think it will be the beginning of a beautiful thing! Thanks to my sister for helping her poor (Blonde) sister to FINALLY start a blog!!
